Mission, Core Values, Beliefs
Grace Community Church of the Nazarene is a member of the global Church of Jesus Christ. Theologically, it is a Protestant Church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. The Church of the Nazarene was founded upon the Person of Jesus Christ and His teaching that we are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves.
We believe that every person is created in the image of God and has inherent and infinite value regardless of age, development, appearance or ability.
We believe that people find their purpose, fulfillment and joy as they know and serve God as revealed in the Bible.
We believe that God’s plan for marriage is foundational to a healthy society, and that God’s design for family life is based upon the marriage relationship where a husband and wife are committed to loving and caring for each another for a lifetime.
We believe all children are a gift from God, and develop best in a home where both father and mother are committed to raising them with love, godly training, intention, discipline and care.
We believe that parents are the primary model for their children how to follow the teachings and spirit of Jesus at home and in the community.
We believe sex is given by God as an expression of love to be shared and enjoyed exclusively between a husband and wife.
We believe that Christians have a responsibility to promote truth and social policy that improves the strength and health of the family and society, as God designed.
Grace Community Church of the Nazarene is a missional church fulfilling the instruction that Jesus gave to His disciples: “As you go, make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20).
Our mission by the power of the Holy Spirit is to make ourselves and other people disciples of Jesus Christ, living and loving as He did. We believe that Jesus Christ died for everyone and that God offers everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ in this life.
As a “holiness church,” Grace Community Church of the Nazarene believes and practices the biblical teaching that Christians can experience a deep level of life in Christ in which there is victory over sin, power to witness and serve, and a rich, continuous fellowship with God, by being filled with the Holy Spirit. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is joy, peace and true love.
